Hey bhagwan, if you're an Indian citizen planning a trip to Nigeria, you absolutely need a visa before you can even think of packing your bags. It's not one of those 'visa on arrival' situations, so don't even try that jugad! You'll need to apply for the appropriate visa type, typically a Tourist Visa, well in advance of your travel dates.

The application process usually starts online through the Nigeria Immigration Service portal, where you fill out forms and make payments. Post that, you'll need to submit your documents – think valid passport, photos, flight itinerary, hotel bookings, and proof of funds – at the Nigerian High Commission or Consulate in India. Make sure all your papers are in order, otherwise, it's a 'lamba process' to get things sorted!

Your passport is your golden ticket, bhai, so ensure it's up to snuff! For entry into Nigeria, your Indian passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended period of stay. If your passport is nearing its expiry date, it's a good idea to get it renewed – don't take a chance on a last-minute 'jugaad' at the airport.

Immigration officials are pretty strict about this, and a passport with less than six months' validity could mean you're denied entry, which would be a real 'dhokha' to your travel plans. So, double-check those dates well before your flight!

If you're just transiting through Nigeria on your way to another destination, don't assume it's a breeze, yaar. Indian citizens often require a transit visa, even if you're just staying within the international transit area of the airport and not planning to step out. It's better to be safe than sorry, and avoid any 'tension' at immigration.

This is especially true if your layover is long, you have separate flight bookings, or you need to re-check your luggage. Always confirm with your airline and the Nigerian High Commission if a transit visa is needed for your specific itinerary. Getting stuck without one would be a proper 'mess'!

Currently, for Indian tourists, Nigeria does not have a separate 'Travel Authorization' system akin to an ETA or eTA that you need to apply for in addition to your visa. Your valid Nigerian visa, obtained prior to travel, serves as your primary authorization to enter the country. So, no extra 'paparazzi' paperwork on that front!

While there isn't a standalone travel authorization, it's always wise to check for any updated health protocols or specific entry forms that might be introduced closer to your travel date, especially if there are global health concerns. For now, focus on getting that visa sorted – that's the main 'game plan'.

While Nigeria does offer an online application process, it's not a pure 'eVisa' in the sense that you typically receive an electronic document without any physical interaction for a standard tourist visa for Indian citizens. The initial application and payment are done online, which is quite convenient, but you'll still need to follow up with a physical document submission at the Nigerian High Commission or Consulate in India to get your visa stamped.

The official portal for starting your visa application process, including filling out forms and making payments, is managed by the Nigeria Immigration Service. You can begin your journey there, but remember, the full 'picture abhi baaki hai mere dost' with the physical submission. Always use the official government portal to avoid any 'scam' or fake sites.
