Throughout September, a series of events are organized, including cultural exhibitions, craft fairs, traditional dance and music performances, and educational workshops. The highlight is Amerindian Heritage Day on September 13th, often marked by a grand cultural spectacle, traditional food tasting, and speeches by community leaders and government officials, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for Guyana's first peoples.

Phagwah, also known as Holi, is a vibrant Hindu festival of colors celebrated with immense enthusiasm across Guyana. It marks the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Participants gather in open spaces, streets, and homes to playfully throw colored powders (abir or gulal) and colored water at each other, creating a joyous and communal atmosphere. Traditional songs, dances, and sharing of sweet treats are also integral parts of the celebration, fostering unity and forgiveness among people of all backgrounds.

Diwali, the "Festival of Lights," is one of the most significant Hindu festivals celebrated with great reverence and joy in Guyana. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Homes, businesses, and public spaces are beautifully illuminated with diyas (oil lamps), fairy lights, and candles. Families perform prayers (poojas), share traditional sweets and delicacies, and exchange gifts.
